Inaguration Analysis
When Barack Obama was sworn in today, it felt more like the peoples inaguaration more that his, in my persperctive at least. The country was filled with excitement as schools, such as ours filled their classrooms, cafeterias and, hey, even a radio here and there. About 2 million people made their way through the Washington Mall, a crowd, which one would imagine would be wild and crazy, but no, this crowd was friendly, and patient. It was more of a family reunion as today, history was made, for once, I can honestly say I felt like this country was 1 , or at least more united then ever before. We even got to share a few laughs, as Obama stuttered while being sworn in. Obama, in a low-key but tough-minded inaugural address, talked about themes that have defined his campaign from the beginning: hope, faith, courage, sacrifice and a willingness to work across partisan lines to build a more just society and a more perfect union. He didn't promise tidy or painless solutions to the nation's problems but stressed that they can be overcome. "The challenges we face are real, they are serious and they are many," he said. "They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this America: They will be met." This just about got everyone hype about Obama, I kind of got a few chills, this guy really knows how to talk, it doesnt even seem like hes trying to sound all sophisticated and stuff, it just comes out that way. I think this is, by far, the smartest President we have ever had.
