Food culture at home

When I go home I dont think people can really relate to me. Well people can but not many people. I go home and often find an empty kitchen, one where theres nothing to eat except a slice of bread and some milk. Lets talk about the good stuff though, when my mom DOES cook, it's the most delicious and bangin' food in the world. Like I'm not even lying, my fat ass be eating seconds....maybe even thirds if needs be. When my family eats we usually eat at different times and at different places. First to eat would be my mother and my nephews because most of the time nobody is even home right when the food is done, then it would probably be me followed by my my brother or sister, they can vary in order. This is the usual setting, my mother on the kitchen table with my smallest nephew who turns 1 on wednesday and my 3 year old nephew right in front of the couch eating on his own while he watches his educational cartoon things on noogin.

Then if I'm there I would either eat on the couch or right by my computer and usually be on like facebook.com or like yahoo or espn checking out my fantasy teams. When my brother comes home, he's usually smacked so this asshole eats his food then he would either eat my sisters food or find something, anything at all in the fridge to snack on. Then he would rest a little and eat more about half an hour later. Then my sister, after coming home from work, would be hungry so she would eat her food, and its funny because me and her kind of alternate with our eating stations and I would probably either head to my room or my mothers room and lay down and watch some tv while I text my friends. I think my family is really different compared to other families because usually family's be eating together like at a dinner table all happy and stuff and thats just not my family, the only times we sit together at a table is during thanksgiving or christmas, like literally we dont do that quality family time.

My mother focuses her cooking on cooking with love I guess even though over the years they seem to decrease but I think that she really does go hard when she cooks, and it usually does not last too long, just a couple of hours, I hate it when I'm like OD starving and it seems like thats when it takes about 5 hours, drain. My mom does try to incorportate some healthiness in our foods, she always makes some salad which makes you even feel good just because you know you are eating something healthy to your body.

Hectic home lives can still be loving (or not). Have you thought about bringing some change into the household (cooking or getting several people to eat together)? How would that go over?
